Afterwarren Lore

What is the story of Afterwarren?

Afterwarren is the name of the world inhabited by my OCs, who are angels and demons with humanoid and lagomorph forms. Anybody can use this lore to create characters of their own! In fact, I'd love to share it if you send it to me on my Bluesky!

The Afterwarren is a place inhabited by two species, one of angels and another of demons. Afterwarren is the secret hidden pocket between Heaven and Hell that is inhabited by Succubunnies and Angel Hares. These subspecies of demons and angels respectively work together incognito to keep tabs on humanity and ensure that lost souls find their way to redemption.

The Architect, creator of the universe these characters inhabit, is functionally the mechanic mehind the well oiled machine that is reality. It dedicates itself to sharing it's love of existance by offering the gift of life to it's creations. In doing so, the Architect created humanity as it's artistic magnum opus.

Following the Architect's creation of humanity, things got complicated quickly. Due to humanity's gift of autonomy and sapience the Architect found itself in need of assistance in ensuring the best for it's creations. As such, the afterlife was created as well as it's inhabitants.

Angel Hares and Succubunnies

The Afterwarren itself is a pocket between Heaven and Hell that is inhabited by a unique subcategory of angels and demons who have 'graduated' from heaven. It functions essentially as a human society in which the Angel Hares and Succubunnies will most often take humanoid forms. The Afterwarren itself is basically a heavenly/hellish break room of sorts for the employees and citizens involved in the Architect's system.

The majority of buns and hares in the Afterwarren are deceased humans. Those who are not were born to bun or hare parents who already existed within the Afterwarren, though this is more rare due to the queue implemented for reincarnation.

As it is possible for a lagomorph spirit to be born into the Afterwarren rather than sent there after death, whether a spirit is a bun or hare is not necessarily an inherent birthright. Lagomorph spirits born in the Afterwarren will take after the traits of their parents and find themselves inheriting either demonic or angelic traits. These are not a life sentence however, as it is possible to submit a request to be transformed into an angel from a demon or vice versa. Transformation of gender related traits are also possible, although inherent spiritual traits like eye colour or ethnicity are not.

Lagomorph spirits have two forms. One form as a bun or hare, and another as a humanoid that can only be taken in the Afterwarren. Lagomorph spirits are limited to their bun or hare forms when undercover on Earth. The uniqueness of their appearances tend to ensure that predators steer clear, but it is possible for a lagomorph spirit to be captured by a curious human. This scenario is uncommon but it isn't unheard of.

In the circumstance that a lagomorph spirit visiting Earth is captured by a human, they will temporarily lose their connection to the Afterwarren and the Architect and become a normal bun or hare. They remain in this normal animal form until the lagomorph is either released or dies in captivity, at which point they will once again return to the Afterwarren as they were prior to capture.

There is no inherent heirarchy between angels and demons. Much like an ecosystem on Earth, all angels and demons are important to the function of the System. The purpose of Hell itself is to rehabilitate human souls and ensure they find peace in heaven and, following this, possibly choose the path of reincarnation. As such, lagomorph spirits tend to live together harmoniously regardless of their professions. Despite this, nobody is perfect and there is tension between some individual lagomorph spirits due to their own existing vices.
